What is Rocklandeats.com?

Rocklandeats.com is an ecommerce platform where restaurants and other food establishments can sell their products on the internet.  Food businesses have their own website with an online ordering system where customers can order food and drinks with a credit card for pickup and delivery.

What is my restaurant's web address?

Your address will be a <name>.rocklandeats.com.  So if your business is Fancy Eating, your address would be fancyeating.rocklandeats.com.

How does my business get paid?

Your customers buy your products with a credit card. You'll set up an account directly with Stripe and your money is deposited into your account two days after the sale.

Stripe is a credit card processor and you'll link your bank account directly with Stripe. RocklandEats passes the transaction to Stripe over a secure SSL link.

Successful charges are deposited in your bank account in 2 days, less the 2.9% + 30 cents per transaction Stripe fee.

Can I update the menus for sale on my site?

Of course. You can update your menu items any time.  Once your site is up, you can use Rocklandeats.com Update Form to send over your changes and we'll take care of it for you.

Can my customers buy gift certificates for their friends?

Yes, your customers can buy gift certificates on your website and have them sent by email to the recipient for use only on your RocklandEats.com website.  The gift certificates are treated like other online purchases and are held as credits associated with the recipient’s email address.

Each restaurant  determines its specific gift certificate amounts or it can have a user defined amount. All Gift Certificate purchases are immediately charged to the giver's credit card.

How's my online store managed?

We set up your store to match your business operations.  For example:

  • The days you're open for pickup and delivery
  • Your hours of operation
  • The number of orders you can prepare and fill each hour

You have the ability to close online ordering by logging into your site and tapping a link.

Do I get a report about my store?

Yes, RocklandEats.com sends you a weekly report via email including sales, traffic and other website activities and statistics.

What if I need help?

We work hard to make things as simple as possible and understand if you have questions or need help with your online ordering system.

How does RocklandEats.com make money?

RocklandEats.com does not take a portion of sales from the restaurant clients - all the revenue belongs to the restaurants.

RocklandEats.com charges a flat monthly fee of $200 to the restaurants on its site.  The fee covers hosting the website, the ecommerce solution, managing the site's security and software updates and providing the product updates for the restaurants.
